Book covers 45 artists born between 1940-70, selected as outstanding examples of Mexicos creativity during the second half of 20th century. Good survey of contemporary Mexican art emphasizes painting and sculpture, but also includes some draftsmen and engravers. Contains excellent reproductions and photos of the artists along with their biographies, which serve as the backdrop for interviews with a number of Mexican critics and historians, such as Teresa del Conde, Patricia Ortiz Monasterio, and Víctor Sandoval –Handbook of Latin American Studies, v. 58.
